Our Story
Mary and Mario first met in the fall of 2016, when they came back to school for their last year at Notre Dame. Somehow, they had been on campus for three years without ever crossing paths. After being introduced by mutual friends, Mary invited Mario as her date to the Walsh Hall Dome Dance - the first of many fun nights they would go on to share together.
After graduating in the spring of 2017, Mario moved to NYC and Mary went to start her new job in Boston. The next two years were full of weekend visits and FaceTime dates until Mary moved to New York for law school and they were finally reunited full-time. They’ve spent the last four years together in New York, enjoying all the city has to offer and being there for each other through several life changes.
Mario had known for a while that he had found the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and, somehow, had gotten a pretty good idea of what kind of ring Mary wanted. On November 5th, Mary and Mario went to lunch, and on the walk back, stopped at their favorite restaurant which hadn't opened for dinner yet. With the staff graciously cleared out, he popped the question at the bar where they’ve shared countless dates. After sharing a glass of champagne, they walked home where many of their closest friends and siblings were waiting to celebrate with them.
Mary and Mario cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives together, and are so excited to celebrate their love on February 17, 2024 in Mario's hometown, Tampa, Florida.
